WOAHMONE exports its cultural advocacy to The Lounge at The Public Theater, for a night of dancing and live musical performances.
DJ’d by Nath Ann Carrera and Savannah Knoop, WOAHMONE culls music the Village Voice describes as “era-spanning, ranging from the Appalachian bluesman Hasil Adkins to occult British prog rock band Black Widow” every first Wednesday of the month at Von.
Composer Nick Hallett performs songs from his “gay science church” cantata, Rainbow Passage, with intrepid soprano Daisy Press and protean keyboardist Emily Manzo, in addition to previewing material from his upcoming opera collaboration with Shana Moulton, Whispering Pines 11.
West Coast dance mystery Space Palace makes its New York debut, with songs destined to make you cross your arms and sway side to side.
The Lounge: Under the Radar, COIL, American Realness and PROTOTYPE collaborate to create a multi-festival party under one roof, and have brought together an eclectic mix of adventurous music, cabaret, performance, and late night revelry for all to enjoy. It’s four festivals with one party. Dancing encouraged!
