Throughout history, veils have symbolized the tension between identity and perceived reflection. The psyche itself is prone to veil and unveil, sometimes even simultaneously. Ultimately, this interplay between the hidden and the revealed helps to shape our dreams, fantasies and realities. The VEILS exhibit includes contemporary art and artifacts that imbue potent invisible forces and glimpsed meanings– investigating the mechanisms to obscure and expose, conceal and overlay.

Highlights include a full body scan wall hanging by Richard Dupont, an unseen watercolor by the late artist and occultist Marjorie Cameron; a rare collaborative
piece by Jeffrey Vallance and Chris Burden; and a new silicone sculpture by Kaari Upson.

VEILS will also be accompanied by an annex that will carry hand-selected antiquities, fashion pieces, out of print publications, titles from Family Books, and unique small works made by artists in the show.
