Jim Hubbard and Sarah Schulman (College of Staten Island) will join David Gerstner (College of Staten Island) for a screening and discussion of their acclaimed documentary United in Anger: A History of ACT UP. Drawing on footage and interviews from the ACT UP Oral History Project, United in Anger explores the complex evolution of the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power, a grassroots collective that not only changed public health policy, but created new models for activism and organization. A panel discussion following the film will explore the production of the film, and the legacy of ACT UP for contemporary queer activists.
