Started by Polly Sexual & Babes Trust in London in 2008, the Tranny Olympics has spread internationally- and notoriously- to Berlin, Stockholm & helped spawn the international festival of drag BUSHWIG! in NYC. Originally, it was created to make a space for the queers of London and draw attention to controversial gender testing in the Olympics. The Tranny Olympics is open for everyone and is a party to celebrate the whole spectrum of gender expressions including the occasional cross dresser, the fishy drag queen, mustachioed kings, bearded ladies, transsexuals, transgender, travestis and everyone in between. Over the last 6 years the Tranny Olympics has developed into a network of underground performance artists and continues to support up & coming queer artists, musicians, drag kings and queens and DJs in London and elsewhere.
