“Re:Awakenings” world premiere at Live Ideas: The Worlds of Oliver Sacks

World premiere of a new film edited from 17 reels of recently discovered Super8 footage shot by Dr. Oliver Sacks of his patients in Beth Abraham Hospital in the Bronx, 1969-70.

The film follows the remarkable progression and regression of these patients as they were “awakened” from decades of living in a near-comatose state after being given the drug L-Dopa.

With a soundtrack by Philip Glass.

Morrison will discuss the film with journalist Lawrence Weschler.
