Butterclock

Laura Clock—better known by her stage name, Butterclock—gained early notoriety last year with her hypnotic vocals layered over San Franciscan producer oOoOO’s productions, like 2012′s “NoWayBack” and “Springs.” Since then, she’s built on that momentum with the release of her own avant-pop, dreamy, downtempo productions that blend mesmerizing, self-written vocals with slow-jam rave beats. Her first mark on 2013′s calendar was the video for “Don’t,” an aptly haunting video that follows Butterclock through a series of blurry memory-like visions, perfectly attuned to the track’s lo-fi allure and hazy overtones. First Prom, Butterclock’s highly anticipated debut solo EP.

“Butterclock’s debutFirst Prom promises the tape-melted trance stabs, stuttering hip-hop beats, and ghostly vocals of so much “weird pop.” -FACT

“It’s Laura’s voice that really transcends on Don’t. Smatterings of Auto-Tune and reverb are blended in, but they add genuine colour rather than overwhelm. They also can’t obscure the air of old-fashioned, decidedly French sensuality that echoes in her voice” -Dummy

O Paradiso was started by Jacob Bills and Darryl Specht in February, 2013. Having collaborated on previous musical projects (Asa Ransom and Death of Fashion), O Paradiso is the next movement of a musical language developed through years of collaboration. With new interest in non-traditional instruments and sound environments, O Paradiso’s sound sits at an edge of collected sounds, moving rhythm, electronic experimentation and melody. Along with former Asa Ransom percussionist Ryan Sartin, O Paradiso began performing live and recording in March, 2013.
