Alexander Maksik presents A Marker to Measure Drift
(A Greenlight First Editions Club Selection)
In conversation with Harper’s Magazine editor Christopher Cox
Alexander Maksik’s A Marker to Measure Drift is a novel about ruin and faith, barbarism and love, and the devastating memories that contain the power both to destroy us and to redeem us. Fellow author Ben Fountain (Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk) writes of the book, “Every line of this excellent novel rings true as Maksik leads us toward the catastrophe at the story’s core. This is one of those books that leaves you staring into space when you finish, dazed from the sheer power of what’s been said.” Maksik will discuss his work this evening with his editor at Harper’s Magazine, Christopher Cox. Greenlight is proud to present Maksik’s book as the July selection for our First Editions Club, and to host this discussion of A Marker to Measure Drift.
